Texas

Ok ..... now that we are here, unpacked, school going full force, Internet finally working (as of today) I have some major catching up to do.
We got to Texas thinking we had a great little house to live in, we knew it was old and might need a little work, but I was up for the task.  When pulling into sweet little Farmers Branch I was so excited! We had been in the van for about 5 hours that day but 11 hours the day before, so I was ready to really get out and stretch my legs, and the kids were ready too.  Our landlord had just left the keys outside in a mailbox for us, and we went in...... It was AWFUL!  It smelt just like mold, and was hot and muggy, the windows wouldn't even open, we had turned the AC on thinking it might help, and water poured out of the ceiling.  I kept thinking... well, we paid the deposit... I might be able to live here (crying inside) and my sweet Mother-in-law was like "you guys are not living here" haha, how thankful I am for her!  We stayed at a hotel with Jeff's Parents and looked for a place.  We had all of our stuff on Jeff's Dad's trailer tarped down, and good thing cause it rained like crazy!  We looked at a few places and my good friend Kari found a place on craigslist for us to see.  It happened to be just down the road maybe a mile from our place we thought we were going to live in, and we loved it!!  It really was a miracle how it all worked out!  We ended up getting our deposit back from the first place and moved in right away to the new place we found!  It is such a cute little house with lots of charm and a park right across the street!  Kloey school is withing walking distance and Jeff's school is about 3.5 miles away.  WE LOVE IT!  Texas is great too!  There are parks about on every corner and it is green EVERYWHERE!  The one big problem I have is the BUGS... they are huge!  I mean HUGE. I keep getting bit by mosquitoes the size of butterflies, and have seen a few cockroaches that made me have to change my pants after the screaming stopped. (too much info, thorry) .... but other than that, I love it!

I am so thankful to all the family who helped us load up, and goodness sake, I am SOOOO Thankful for Jeffs parents who came with us over here, who brought all our stuff, took care of us when we really didn't have a place to live.  I love them so much and we really couldn't have done it without them.

Glad you were able to find a better place to stay... that first place sounds a little nasty. I am jealous of the green, but not of the bugs!!

YEAH!!!! you posted!!!! I've been checking your blog every day, every hour, on the hour to see an update! :) Glad I can cease stalking for at least a few hours anyway. YIKES on the scary first house, so glad the second one worked out and is perfect. You'll be so much happier there. We miss you guys like CRAZY here in Arizona!!!! I pray every night that Jeff will flunk out of school and you'll have to move into our spare room (all 5 of you). Ok, not really, but man do I wish you guys were still around. Emma still talks about the girls. Keep up the blog posts, I love see new pictures of everyone.

Congrats on the move! I loved Texas and it really was a special time for Justin and I. I hope you have as good of experience as we did. I think it is so fun that Kari is there. You two will have a blast. When you come visit, Jeff can come to the office anytime and shadow Justin for a day. He would not mind at all. I am happy for your guys! Your kids are adorable and congrats on an handsome little boy!-Kiri Austin Woodside:)
